Cork’s Leesiders Bank €10Million Worth of Business

A number of Cork business people are celebrating the generation of E10million worth of new business in just 4 years. The Leeside BNI Chapter who meet each Wednesday morning in The River Lee Hotel became the first group in Ireland to surpass the E10million mark by promoting each other through word of mouth marketing and referrals. The Leeside Chapter consists of a number of local businesses including a carpenter, a solicitor, a flooring company and a locksmith among others. Members support over 150 jobs in the region with this set to grow in the coming months thanks to new business wins. The group have already generated over €1.8million of business this year alone. All members of the Leeside chapter act as a sales force for each other by passing new business and giving referrals. Each member benefits from BNI's unique referral system which is similar to having dozens of sales people working as part of your team, whose role is to refer contacts and business within their group. Speaking of the group’s achievement Alan Murphy, Handles and Hinges, and Chapter Director of Leeside, said “We are thrilled to be the first Chapter in Ireland to generate such an incredibly high volume of business. We are normal business people who continue to strive to find work just like anyone else but being a member of this group has enabled us to find new customers and generate new business which may have otherwise gone undetected. We have managed to generate €10million by building real relationships with each other which allows us to refer business to one another. We have put in the hard work and the early starts for our weekly meetings have certainly paid off.” He continued, “Together we have succeeded in building our businesses despite everything. When we meet we refuse to talk about the negatives, and instead we look at how we can continue to generate new business for each other. We are looking forward to many more years of success for the Leeside Chapter and would encourage anyone who is interested in growing their business to come along as a visitor to one of our meetings”. Also speaking of the success of The Leeside Chapter, Sandra Hart, Executive Director of BNI, Ireland South and West said "I am hugely proud of the achievements of the Leeside members who are proof that by working together amazing things can be achieved. It is easy for business owners to get lost in the daily routine and forget to work on the business rather than in it but BNI allows them the space and support to realise their true potential. Each member has worked extremely hard to reach such a milestone and I hope they will continue to do so long in to the future. BNI welcomes all business people to come to a meeting as a guest.
