Ireland's Only Certified Organic Perfume waters and wild to Showcase Overseas
Ireland's first and only certified organic perfume brand, waters and wild will exhibit at this year's Alternative Fragrance and Beauty event which will be held in Paris from 16-18 June.
waters and wild perfumery was founded in 2014 by two friends June Housden and Joan Woods in West Cork after discovering a mutual love for natural beauty products. They both identified a desire for a perfume inspired by the sights and scents around them in beautiful West Cork from the seaweed on Atlantic beaches, wild flowers in hedgerows, heather, driftwood, gorse and peat.
The pair embarked on a journey to source the purest ingredients as well as studying the art of perfumery at one of the oldest ateliers in Grasse, France. Formulating the range, they use only certified organic essential oils, botanicals, resins and tinctures of the highest quality, sourced both locally and from all around the world. Drawing on their creative backgrounds in fine arts, music, fashion and retail, as well as a shared appreciation of wellness, health and beauty, they created a range of classic but contemporary scents which they launched at the Showcase 2016 Expo in the RDS in Dublin in January of this year. Since then the range has been lauded by customers and beauty professionals alike on a local and national scale.
The three scents in the initial range, all contrasting but complementary are Rose and Oud, made with rose petals harvested at dawn, Tuberose and Frankincense, an exotic classic and timeless fragrance and Cedarwood and Cognac, a warm rich scent with hints of full bodied earthy vetiver. Each scent retails for €95 for a 50ml bottle.
Speaking of the brand, Joan Woods said, "Everyone loves perfume, it gives us a sense of well-being and has the ability to transport you to a different world.
