50 Years of Financial Freedom for Skibbereen; O’Sullivan Relative Re-enacts Raising of the Tricolour
Kieran Lynch (Ballymacrown, Baltimore), relative of Skibbereen man Gearóid O’Sullivan who was the first person to raise the Tricolour over the GPO in Dublin during the Easter Rising, raises the flag over Skibbereen Credit Union which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

O’Sullivan who was born in Skibbereen in 1891 was a member of the GPO Garrison during Easter Week 1916, and was the young volunteer who, under the instructions of Padraic Pearse, hoisted the Tricolour on the G.P.O roof on Easter Monday. Picture: Emma Jervis Photography
